Equipment
- Bamboo Whisk or (handheld) foam maker
- Small Bowl or mug
- Fine Mesh Strainer (for sifting out clumps)
Ingredients
- 1-2 grams of matcha powder
- 2 ounces hot water (60-70 ml) of hot water - 80°C is ideal
- 6 ounces additional hot water or steamed milk of choice: almond milk, oat milk, coconut milk, dairy milk, etc.
- Optional: maple syrup, honey, or other sweetener
Instructions
- Sift the matcha into a mug or small bowl to get rid of any lumps.
- Pour in the 2 ounces of the hot water. Use a matcha whisk or small regular whisk, whisk vigorously in a zig zag motion until the tea is frothy (it is also completely fine if you use a handheld foam maker).
- Add the remaining 6 ounces of hot water or steamed milk and whisk again until foamy. Sweeten to taste, if desired.
